First Lady visits Perth school
First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa on an official visit to Australia
accompanying President Mahinda Rajapaksa who is participating in the
Commonwealth Heads of State Meeting visited the Presbyterian Ladies
College in Perth on Tuesday.
The First Lady received a warm welcome by the students and the staff
of the college on arrival. The Presbyterian Ladies College in Perth
established in 1915 is one of the most popular academic institutions in
Perth where over 1,500 students are studying.
The head prefect of the school is Dinu Kumarasinghe, who is a Sri
Lankan.
Addressing the students and the staff of the college, First Lady
Shiranthi Rajapaksa expressed gratitude to the Presbyterian College for
extending their support to rebuild tsunami hit schools in Sri Lanka.
First Lady Rajapaksa also presented mementos among the staff of the
college.
The First Lady later inspected the academic activities of the primary
school students.
