Festival of Lights
Dear Children,
Deepavali
or the festival of lights was celebrated by Hindus yesterday (October
26).
Deepavali means the triumphant entry of the light of peace, unity and
understanding and the dramatic defeat of evil.
According to the Hindu calendar, bright and beautiful lamps are lit
in a row in Hindu homes.
Deepavali inspires us with the hopes and aspirations for better times
ahead.
This will let the light of knowledge and wisdom shine far and wide
scattering bright beams of peace, wisdom and splendour of light amongst
us humans. Do you like to save? Most of you must be careful with the
‘pocket money’ your parents give. Saving and being careful in the way
you spend your money is a very good habit.
October 31 is designated as World Thrift Day. It is a day declared by
the International Thrift Congress in Milan, Italy which is devoted to
the promotion of ‘savings’ all over the world. Several schools too
conduct awareness programmes to educate children on the values of
savings.

Waves
In this stuffy world,
I found comfort,
But
Sometimes it’s like waves of the ocean
Some times it’s a quite night
I love to stay under the quiet night,
But I’m poor to confront the bawly waves
Because I’ll cause to vanish the
becalmed of my night and
my beach too
So I’m dreaming to lay on my beach
in the twilight
If the waves are not raucous
But, when I sigh, my tears embrace
the bawly waves and it comes fragile
I know may be I’m
a beachcomber
in this eve
However, I think now I’m in love with the waves,
Whether it is raucous or not

World Teachers’ Day
A teacher teaches a child the right way as our parents do. Teachers
are children’s second parents. So we should always respect them. The day
on which special attention and consideration is bestowed on teachers is
known as the World Teachers’ Day. World Teachers’ Day falls on October 5
annually.
Albert Einstein, one of the great scientists once said, “It is the
supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and
knowledge”. Teachers work very hard to make bad children good, to give
us new meaning to life.
