Junior inter-provincial cricket gets Prima boost

The opening ceremony of the ongoing Prima Champions Cup 2011 under-15 district tournament and the provincial tournament was held at the Kettarama Stadium, Colombo recently with the participation of all senior officials from SLC and Prima Group, the partners of the tournament.

Prima Group - Sri Lanka group general manager Tan Beng Chuan, in a message said ‘It is our great pleasure to sponsor this under 15 cricket tournament for the fifth consecutive year, as we recognize the need to encourage and harness young cricketing talent.

We are happy to announce that this partnership with SLC that will help young cricketers to become excellent national level players”

According to Ashley De Silva, head of cricket operations “SLC is proud to partner Prima in this tournament, and recognizes their contribution to the uplifting of junior cricket in Sri Lanka” Prima Champions Cup under-15 district and provincial cricket tournaments will undoubtedly help the young cricketers to gain their confidence and experience in the coming years.

With view to showcase their cricketing talent, the final match will be telecasted live on television next month
