Canon - Rotary District bowling tourney on November 5

Teams of Rotarians will compete in November to become the Canon-Rotary District Bowling Tournament champion at the annual bowling tournament organized by the Rotary Club of Colombo Down Town and sponsored by Canon and Metropolitan.

The event which will be held at Excel World on November 05, is expected to attract bowling enthusiast as well as cheering squads.

The governor's challenge shield will be on offer for the champion. Trophies await the best scoring bowler and best scoring lady bowler.

Metropolitan, the sole distributors of the Canon range of cameras in Sri Lanka, supports many sectors ranging from culture and traditions, to arts and professional development and now plan to be active in the sports arena as well.

Rotary clubs will form teams comprising of six players and vie for the Governor's Challenge Shield. After the first round, the best ten will be shortlisted for the second round.

The best five will enter the finals. The event promises to have a carnival atmosphere with music and fellowship. Registration forms and details of tournament rules can be obtained from the organizing Rotary Club and teams need to register before October 27, 2011.
