Nisman's 'Ran Kandula' tells the story
Sports journalist Nisman Ranasinghe launched his book titled 'Ran
Kandula'(The golden teardrop) at the National Library auditorium
recently.

The book is based on the incidents which took place before and after
the stripping-off of Sri Lanka's most celebrated boxer, Manju
Wanniarachchi of the Delhi Commonwealth Games gold medal.
Nisman who is mostly known for his balanced reporting while
protecting the parties which should be defended. He is well known for
promoting athletes from rural areas and bringing them into limelight,
giving his best for the sake of Sri Lankan sport for over 15 years.
In his book, Nisman recalls the acts and incidents behind the Delhi
Commonwealth Games gold medal and shares his views, about the journey of
boxer Manju Wanniarachchi.
A number of journalists, sports officials, sportsmen and women were
present at the launch and he presented the first book to Dian Gomes, who
was the manager of the boxing team at the Delhi Games. CW |
