Sparkling 108 by Tilina

Tilina Rupasena smashed a brilliant 108 not out with 13 fours and three sixes off 84 balls for Vidyartha College in their inter-school cricket match against Royal College, Panadura, which ended in a tame draw at Police Grounds, Kandy yesterday.

Vidyartha College continuing from their overnight score of 143 for 3 ran into trouble early losing Randeeve Bandara for 56.

But the rest of the inning belonged to Tilina Rupasena who is essentially a bowler tore the opponents bowling apart despite losing partners at the other end.

When he was nearing his hundred the last man was in and fearing that he may not reach three figures, clouted a six over long on to reach his maiden hundred.

The bowling honours were shared by the two spinners Kavindu Ashane (5 for 91) and Thenuke Dissanayake (5 for 55.)

At close Royal College Panadura had made a strong reply in making 192 for 5. S Akila 56 (9 fours) and A Harshana 51 (8 fours were the main scorers.
