Computers stolen in customer's guise

A suspect who had allegedly robbed computers worth about Rs 600,000 was arrested by the Boralasgamuwa Police recently. This 35-year-old man from Kurunegala is alleged to have come into a computer shop as a customer.

He had first produced old receipts with high values on computers and told the shopkeeper that he wanted to buy computers for a school and whether the shopkeeper could provide lower quotations than specified in the receipts.

When the shopkeeper agreed, he had come back the next day and confirmed that the Principal of the school agreed to the prices and requested him to provide the computers with an assistant who would be given the payment once the computers were delivered.
