Hotel show, culinary competition begins October 27

Pico Sri Lanka and Montgomery Worldwide UK will host the South Asia’s premier hotel supplies and service exhibition, “Hotel, Hospitality and Food Sri Lanka 2011 from October 27 to 29 at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre .

“We as a leading company in the exhibition industry in Sri Lanka has shown our commitment to support the local tourism industry by hosting this event and this would create a better platform for local hotel, restaurant owners and industry related stakeholders,” Pico Sri Lanka Executive Director Shanthi Outschoorn told a press conference held to announce the exhibition.

The exhibition will consist of 125 stalls and have special pavilions from National Chamber of Exporters and USA. In addition, visitors from India, Maldives, Egypt, Singapore, UK, UAE and Pakistan and others have already confirmed their participation for this event.

“The inter hotel culinary competition will take place as a concurrent event of the exhibition and it will enable Sri Lankan chefs to showcase their talents in a very different context.”

Fourteen hotels have been selected with each team comprising four members. These chefs will be able to demonstrate their culinary supremacy in front of the three world renowned international chefs.

The winning team will receive a full paid package to participate in one of the leading international culinary competitions named “Hotelympia competition, UK” to be held in February 2012.
