Two women among treasure hunters

Kekirawa Police have arrested seven persons who were engaged in excavation for treasures in the Ipalogama area.

Among the suspects were two women. The arrests were made in the wee hours of yesterday (18). Police also took into custody a backhoe and items for ritual offerings at the site. The men were residents of Kurunegala and the women were from the surrounding area.

The Environment Police Unit of the Kekirawa Police are conducting investigations.
