The Thallady-Arippu bridge was
declared open by Economic Development Minister Basil
Rajapaksa on October 16. The Thallady-Arippu bridge is 7.35
metres in width and 258 metres in length. The Arippu bridge
is the shortest land route to Mannar from Puttalam. The
bridge was constructed under the UK Steel Bridge project at
