Housing project for war heroes in Kurunegala

Sri Lanka is the only country that looks after its war heroes by providing their day to day needs at government expense observed Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities, Minister Wimal Weerawansa.

The minister was speaking after laying the foundation for a housing project for War heroes in Kurunegala District recently. This housing scheme is to provide shelter to 65 disabled soldier families.

The National Housing Development Authority (NHDA) has invested Rs 13,000,000 and the total cost invested in building infrastructure such as electricity, water supply and byroads are Rs 42,000,000. An extra Rs 50,000 is to be spent in constructing the bathrooms of these houses to facilitate the needs of the disabled soldiers.
