information received that there were drugs, firearms and other illegal
items in his home. The search also extended to checking National
Identity Cards, driving licences etc.
This, the Provincial Council Minister said caused him great
embarrassment and appealed to the President to order a fair inquiry into
the matter to which the President assented.

Opposition political activists were spreading false rumours on the
matter to take undue advantage of the situation. |
