Appropriation Bill in Parliament

The Appropriation Bill for 2012 was presented in Parliament for its first reading yesterday (18).

President Mahinda Rajapaksa in his capacity as the Finance Minister will present the Budget 2012 in Parliament (2nd reading) on November 21.

The projected expenditure of the government for economic development for 2012 is Rs. 2,220 billion and the anticipated revenue for 2012 is Rs. 1,115 billion. The International Monetary Fund has said the current monetary conditions in Sri Lanka are appropriate to support the economic recovery. Courtesy PRIU
