Sampath Bank rewards grade five scholarship winners

In keeping with Sampath Bank's commitment in caring for students and their wellbeing, five students who obtained highest marks at the grade five scholarship examination this year were awarded cash prizes and stationary items at the Sampath Center recently.


The five students who obtained highest marks at the 2011 grade five examination.

Three students had topped the list with 195 marks and the other two had obtained 194 - one mark less. Of the five lucky students Mahammadu Naleem Zaky Ahamed (Kekirawa Muslim Maha Vidyalaya), Nethmi Ranaweera (Dodangoda Miriswatta Maha Vidyalaya) and Oshadi Rashiprabha of (Kalutara Balika Maha Vidyalaya) had got 195 marks while the other two - Parameshwaran Shethuragavan (Neththaliyaru Tamil Vidyalayam- Visuvamadu West) and Ishan Lakshitha Sathsara Sumanapala (Medagama Maha Vidyalaya) had obtained 194 marks.

In addition, top five winners of each district will also get cash prizes. They will be notified to collect the cash from the nearest branches of Sampath Bank. Incidentally, the prize will be doubled for those who have 'Sampath Pubudu' and 'Sampath Sapiri' accounts.

A series of seminars was organized early this year by the Bank for the benefit of grade five students where they had an opportunity of learning methods of managing time in writing answers and also the way to answer difficult questions. The most likely questions were also discussed. Account holders of 'Sampath Pubudu' and 'Sampath Sapiri' children's accounts as well as non-account holders could participate at the seminars.

This was the second successive year that these seminars were held. According to the feedback by students, they found them most useful. Sampath Bank will continue the CSR initiative as an annual feature to keep its momentum and hope to add more benefits as the years go by.

The seminars are only one of many valued added features of the 'Sampath Pubudu' and 'Sampath Sapiri' children's accounts. While Pubudu account holders are eligible for a range of gifts, Sapiri accounts offer higher interest. Account holders of both are entitled to overseas trips as well as free healthcare and personal insurance covers depending on the amount in their accounts.


DFCC Vardhana Bank adds 'Vardhana Leasing' to its portfolio

Unlike traditional leasing facilities available in the market, Vardhana Leasing promises minimum paperwork and less hassle. This results in a minimal processing time, leading to speedy delivery and service at your doorstep.

Leasing out brand new, reconditioned or registered vehicles is made possible through 'Vardhana Leasing'. This new leasing facility will also be made available to individual as well as small and medium-scale enterprises.

'Vardhana Leasing' will be available at DFCC Vardhana Bank branches islandwide, and ensures customers of availing the facility in a minimum time with optimum service guaranteed.

Recently, Fitch Ratings Lanka assigned DFCC Vardhana Bank Limited's (DVB) proposed subordinated debentures of up to Rs. 1 b a National rating of 'A+(lka)' and simultaneously affirmed DVB's National Long-Term rating at 'AA-(lka)' with a Stable Outlook.
 


Triumph rewards dealers with gold

This year Triumph rewarded the dealers who achieved their targets within the given time period with a 22 carat gold anklet. This promotion was carried out for two consecutive years and Triumph intends to continue this endeavour, which in turn will increase the sales and profits of the company as a whole.

Among the winners who received the 22 carat gold anklet was Deepa Nagthall, Priyanka Ukwatta, Damayanthi Wanniarachi, Vajira Malkanthi Samithasiri, Chamila Wijeweera, Subashini Hapuarachchi, Abdulla Whaeed, Ranjitha Thamilselvan, Salina Padmini Perera, Thanuja Aluthwatte, Ranga Gayan Gunathilaka, Sandya Samarasakara, D.L. Susiri Pieris, Himashi Indika Baduge, Rathika Paranahewa, Himaddrini Abayanayake, Noma Ukwatha, Suranganie Patrishiya Perera, Shanthi Logeshwara, Krishanthi Roshini Perera, Iroshini Agalawatte, Dr. P. Radasuriya and R. A. G. Ilangaratne.

Dialog bill payments available at Singer outlets

Dialog customers now can stop at over 350 Singer Sri Lanka outlets, one of the Island's largest retailers in home durables to pay mobile, fixed telephone, broadband and DTV (Dialog Television) bill payments giving subscribers a wider reach to settle their dues.

All payments made will be updated online at real time when subscribers make bill payments. Singer Sri Lanka with a 134 year history is the largest retailer for home appliances, consumer electronics and furniture.

The partnership will give Dialog customers additional 350 touch points to pay bills which includes 161 'Singer Plus' retail stores, 117 small satellite shops, 13 'Singer Mega' stores and other retail outlets. "We are pleased to extend our partnership with Dialog Axiata," Singer Sri Lanka Finance Director Priyath Salgado said. "Singer's 350 plus and growing branch network would give Dialog customers the added convenience to settle bills on the go saving time and money," he said.

Dialog Axiata, with over 2,000 2G and 1,200 3G base stations is Sri Lanka's largest mobile service provider with over seven million subscribers.

"Singer's wide branch network will add value and convenience to Dialog customers across Sri Lanka," Dialog Axiata Group Chief Operating Officer Supun Weerasinghe said.
