Indonesian special envoy meets deputy minister

Indonesian President Special Envoy Andri Hadi on a two day visit to Sri Lanka called on the External Affairs Acting Minister Neomal Perera on October 12, at the Ministry.

He conveyed an invitation to President Mahinda Rajapaksa to attend the 4th Bali Democratic Forum Summit scheduled to be held from December 8 to 9.

During the meeting, the acting minister drew the Indonesian special envoy's attention to Sri Lanka's desire to expand bilateral relations, and proposed that the two capitals work together in identifying dates for the first session of the joint commission.

Trade and investment opportunities available in the North and East with the vast economic resurgence programme that has been undertaken in these areas, and the potential for mutually beneficial investment opportunities in various sectors, were also highlighted by the acting minister.
