Mismanagement triggered Board dissolution - Health Minister

Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena yesterday said that lack of cooperation between the senior officials and ineffective management of the Sri Jayawardenapura Teaching Hospital resulted in the Board of Directors being dissolved by him.

The Minister said that he made new appointments for the posts of Director and Deputy Director of the hospital. He said that the former Director and the Deputy Director of the hospital have held the respective posts for more than 15 years and they were not on good terms.

The Minister queried as to how a hospital could be run when there is no cooperation between the top officials.
