Special exposition of Sacred Relics

An exposition of the Sacred Hair Relics of Lord Buddha will take
place on October 25 and 26 at the historic Senkadagalapura Asgiriya Sri
Vijayasundararamaya.
The Relics which are now at Gangaramaya, Hunupitiya are to be taken
to Senkadagalapura on October 25 at 8 am, Cabinet Spokesman and Media
Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said.
Addressing the media at the Government Information Department
Minister Rambukwella said the Relics will be exposed to the public until
4 pm on October 26.
Central Province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake said all
arrangements will be made to provide facilities for those visiting
Senkadagalapura to view relics.
Parking facilities, health services and all other facilities are to
be provided during the exposition of the Sacred Relics. The Relics were
handed over to President Mahinda Rajapaksa during his visit to
Bangladesh early this year.
Asgiriya Sri Vijayasundararamaya was the last temple of the last king
of Sri Lanka, Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe.
