Promet consultants feted at National Energy Awards
Professional Met Consultancy Services (Pvt) Ltd has been awarded the
Sri Lanka National Best Energy Services Company award 2011 at the Sri
Lanka National Energy Efficiency award ceremony.
This is the first time such an award has been conferred to an Energy
Services Company in Sri Lanka.

Met Consultancy Services (Pvt) Ltd has been actively engaged in
encouraging industrialists to utilize indigenous fuels (firewood, saw
dust, agro waste etc) to alternate imported fossil fuel used in the
industries of Sri Lanka.
By implementing bio-mass projects by this company in various
industries 15 million litres of imported oil per annum has been saved
which amounts to considerable saving of foreign exchange for the
country.
As a result of utilizing locally available bio-mass for industries
the rural economy has also improved up to a certain extent.
In addition the company conducts training programmes, workshops and
awareness programmes on energy saving and energy conservation and energy
management for engineers, technicians and other officials in the
industrial sector in the country through their training centre.
The company (Promet) is a registered Energy Services Company in the
Sustainable Energy Authority under the purview of the Power and Energy
Ministry and also a Listed Consultant in the Central Environmental
Authority.
The main areas of business activities of this company are turnkey
projects of bio-mass boilers, thermic and hot water heaters, bio-mass
power plants, all types of pollution control plants, energy audits,
training programmes for energy conservation, turnkey LED and solar
lighting systems, supplying of all type of flow meters, flue gas
analyzers, industrial pumps and heat exchangers.
M.A. Justin who is a senior chartered engineer is the Chairman and
Managing Director of the company. He was engaged in energy saving
activities for many years. He was the former President of Sri Lanka
Energy Managers Association for two consecutive years and former General
Manager of National Paper Co. Ltd. which won productivity awards for
creditable performance for two consecutive years during his tenure. |
