Gold smuggling duo arrested

Police Anti-narcotics Unit cracked a gold smuggling racket at the
Bandaranaike International Airport when two Sri Lankans were nabbed with
gold biscuits concealed in their persons.

The gold biscuits, weighing about two kilos had been put in condoms
and inserted into their persons.
Initial police investigations revealed that this was an international
smuggling racket and they had planned to take the gold biscuits to
Chennai.
The two suspects have been handed over to the Sri Lanka Customs for
further investigations. |
