T-Navi launches traffic navigation system for Colombo

T-Navi Private Limited launched Colombo's newest traffic navigation system aiming to reduce travel time of motorists and to save fuel.

T-Navi Private Limited Executive Director Jay Dharmadasa told Daily News Business that the Sri Lankans are now experiencing rapid infrastructure development after ending the 30 years war. The development of roads will result in easing the traffic congestion in the country. He said that T-Navi has introduced a new traffic plan as a solution to traffic congestion in the country. In most developed countries the GPS navigation system is being used to monitor and control the traffic systems in addition to navigation purposes.

T-Navi is a software and it can be downloaded by any GPS mobile phone and other internet device.

"The main barrier we had in introducing this latest navigation solution is the non-availability of an accurate digital map of Sri Lanka. To fill this requirement we have developed a detailed digital map of Sri Lanka indicating all main roads and points of interest for travellers coupled with various other useful information. To this map we have incorporated a software which can enable the providing of live traffic data", he said.

There are many features included in this technology such as multilingual voice guidance, user friendly interface 3D building junction view and lane guide.
