Price band for AAIC, ASCO
The market endured firm trading yesterday where ASI witnessed a
notable jump into positive zone thought MPI depicted a marginal dip.
ASI gained by 37.24 points (+0.55%) to end at 6,747.91 while
sensitive MPI lost marginally by 1.13 points (-0.02%) to settle at
5,998.15.
Market turnover recorded at Rs 2.8bn.
Asian Cotton Mills Plc (Rs.537.5mn) recorded the highest turnover
with heavy trading.
Meanwhile Asian Alliance Plc (Rs 233.6mn) and Regnis Plc (Rs.181.8mn)
made notable contributions to the daily turnover. Meanwhile Blue
Diamonds voting and nonvoting and Nation Lanka Finance Plc demonstrated
active trading. Furthermore during the day 10% price band was imposed on
AAIC and ASCO consequent to their notable intraday rally.
Foreign participation stood at 5.5% of the total market activity. At
the end of the day foreign investors were the net sellers with a net
foreign outflow of Rs.134.0mn
