More Laksala outlets

The Laksala which has earned a record income of Rs 169 million during the last eight months has planned to open more sales outlets at the National Museum, Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, and Yala and Wilpattu sanctuary premises frequented by tourists within the coming months.

A new outlet will be opened at Moratuwa shortly. State Resources and Enterprise Development Minister Dayasritha Tissera disclosed this at a ministry progress review meeting held at the ministry premises recently.

The minister noted that the Fort Laksala emporium registered monthly sales amounting to around Rs 10 million.

Ministry Secretary Willie Gamage who attended the meeting directed Laksala Chairman Anil Koswatte to close all Laksala sales stalls which are unprofitable.

Laksala Chairman Anil Koswatte noted that the Laksala which was highly indebted in the past has made a notable turn around and it is marching forward through a new strategy to serve the customers better.
