‘Better future for younger generation’

The government will take every possible step to create a better tomorrow for the future generation. The existing laws for child protection will be streamlined, Child Development and Women’s Affairs Minister Tissa Karaliyadda said.

The Minister was addressing a gathering at Madawachchiya recently after commissioning several development activities including and electricity supply project for Weheragala, Madawachchiya, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party on that day.

In addition, three road development projects too were commenced at a cost of Rs 14.6 million under the patronage of Minister Karaliyadda.

The Economic Development Ministry has allocated funds for the three road development projects. The minister added that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party has to be safeguarded for the future. The SLFP has won the Madawachchiya electorate at all elections held so far. ‘the SLFP will win all local government bodies at the forthcoming local government election,’ he said.

The Child Development and Women’s Affairs Ministry has implemented a programme to protect and look after helpless children in the country.

In accordance with the Mahinda Chintana Idiri Dekma, a better future is being created for the future generation.
