Children’s movie week starts today

A children’s movie week marking the 2011 World Children’s Day starts
today. The National Child Protection Authority has organized a movie
week, under the guidance of Child Development and Women’s Affairs
Ministry.

Marabage said to nurture a child with good personality, it is essential
to have a balanced state of mind and body. This step was taken to
improve the mental status of children through entertainment.
Movies will be screened from today throughout this month in the NFC
film hall at the National Film Corporation premises from 3.30pm to
5.30pm.
Films will be shown to children from children’s homes and some
selected schools. Further, there will be room for another 75 children to
watch movies with their guardians. Seats can be reserved by calling the
emergency number 1929.
Somaratne Dissanayaka’s film “Bindu” will be screened today, Ashoka
Handagama’s “Vidu” will be shown on September 27 and Somaratne
Dissanayaka’s “Siri Raja Siri”on Se
The English film “Rio” will be screened on September 29 and “Saroja”
on September 30. |
