Hundreds attend army dental clinic

The Sri Lanka Army organized a dental clinic and an educational
programme on health for schoolchildren and teachers in Point Pedro to
uplift their dental health.

An officer of the Security Forces Headquarters, Jaffna said it was
one of the series of health programmes held in the area. He added that
many other health programmes were held in the same area under the
supervision of the Security Force Headquarters Jaffna Commander Major
General Mahinda Hathurusinghe.
He added that 76 students and seven teachers were treated at the
clinic while over 100 students and teachers attended the awareness
seminar held at Valvai Magaliyar Maha Vidyalaya in Velvettithurai.
Jaffna Teaching Hospital Dental Surgeon Dr. Sirinivasan, Manthikai
Hospital Dental Surgeon Dr. Senthilkumaran and the Manthikai Hospital
medical staff members assisted to make the programme a success. Civil
Affairs Officer of the Brigade Major Nanda Kumara coordinated the
programme with the Mobile Medical Unit of the Regional Director of
Health Services office, Jaffna on the directives of the Commander 521
Brigade Lieutenant Colonel Tikiri Dissanayake.
