Ravi brings 11 Tamil children's books
Lake House journalist Ravi Ratnavel had penned 11 children's books in
Tamil. The books are easy to grasp and tell interesting stories to keep
the tiny tots engaged. Written in a simple language the stories can be
read by children to improve their Tamil vocabulary as well as read aloud
by parents to familiarize them with the language.
Out of the 11, three are translations from Sinhala stories. One is a
Chinese folktale. The rest are well loved English stories. The kids can
compare the language of the translation with the original. No doubt they
will also be enthralled by the animal and human characters as well as
the beautiful illustrations in the books.
The books that are up for grabs at the Mal Piyali bookstores are
Walking Stick and Punishment, Jointly made Porridge, Greedy Dog, The
Deer and the Man, Maha Pandither the learned scholar, Friendship, Poson
Tree, Golden Deer, Garden Monkey, How Cats and Dogs Became Enemies and A
Dead Rat.
