Popular journalist and author Earnest Waduge’s latest novel is an
addition to his much loved youth romance Mage Menika which was released
a few months back and won a mass readership.
His latest book is titled Mage Menika 2: Sankalani and looks at youth
romance in a different angle to its predecessor. It traces the issues
that a couple who are due to tie the knot soon faces due to various
people and incidents occurring around them. These are problems that most
youths face in the contemporary society. They are quick to act on
impulse and make decisions. At times when they need to be more
broadminded to the problem they take tend to come to conclusions from
their point of view. At such instances they hardly heed elders’ advice.
Elders need to find skillful ways in approaching the subject and
convincing them to look at matters in different light. This is exactly
what Sakya Devawansha does when he helps untangle Suraj, Ruwani and
Sankalani’s issues. The story flows through ups and downs. Suraj and
Ruwani’s romance is put to a test.
The book is an easy read. It is ideal for all those who are romantics
at heart.
