Suspect nabbed for theft

A suspect resident in Galkanda, Mawanella was arrested by the Dehiwala Police on Thursday in connection with a spate of jewellery robberies in Dehiwala and Kohuwala recently.

Interrogation of the suspect led to the arrest of five other suspects from Badulla, Matale, Ukuwela and Narammala for complicity in these robberies.

The suspects were due to be produced before the Mt Lavinia Magistrate yesterday.
