Homeopathy Medical College soon

The government is planning to establish a Homeopathy Medical College in the country, Indigenous Medicine Minister Salinda Dissanayake said.

The minister was addressing scholars selected to study homeopathy medicine in Calcutta. They left on September 14 for their studies.

The Sri Lanka government provided air tickets free of charge.

The new Homeopathy Act has been presented to the Cabinet for approval. Under this, the ministry has the opportunity to develop this medical system. This medical system is easy to practise and cheaper than other medical systems.

The Calcutta University annually provides 10 scholarships to Sri Lanka for homeopathy studies. Thirty-five Lankan students are studying in India. Around Rs 3.5 million will be spent for this, sources said.
