Royal Under 15 win by two runs

Royal College Colombo pulled off a thrilling two run win over Richmond College Galle in the under 15 division one quarter-final cricket match played at the Moors Grounds yesterday. Richmond were joint winners of the division one championship last year. Royal won the toss and elected to bat first but were in trouble losing five wickets for 30 runs.

Right Arm off Spinner Charith Asalanka taking 4 wickets for 27 runs. Tilanka Wijerathna 2/7 and Wanida de Silva 2/41 chipped in. Wicket Keeper Batsman Thiran Dhanapala top scored with 56 runs. Royal were all out for 141 runs in 43.3 overs. The Richmond innings was limited to 36 overs due to rain and a victory target of 129 runs set as per the Parabola Formula. Richmond 126 for 7 in their 36 overs losing by two runs.

Royal College 141 all out in 43.3 overs (Thiran Dhanapala 56 Chamika Karunarathna 17 Umesh Sooriyahewa 13, Lasith Emduldeniya 13, Charith Asalanka 4/27, Thilanka Wijerathne 2/7, Wanida de Silva 2/41),

Richmond College 126/7 in 36 overs (Pasidu Goonarathna 43, D H Hirasha 14, S G Liyange 11, Wanida de Silva 11, Chamika Karunarathna 2/24, Buddika Arasakularathne 2/18).
