Four fined for drunk driving

Four persons arrested by the Ingiriya Police for violating road rules were produced before Horana magistrate Mahinda Ranasinghe and fined Rs 35,000.

The first two suspects, Janaka Nishantha and W Chandrasiri, who had driven under the influence of alchohol were fined Rs 5,000 each and the third, T Pushpakumara, who had driven without a licence under the influence of alchohol was fined Rs 9,500 by the magistrate. Another suspect, S Chaminda, who had driven under the influence of alchohol without a licence, insurance or any other document was fined Rs 15,500.
