Free school text book delivery from Sept 15

Education Ministry sources said that they would start delivering the free text books to schools for year 2012 from September 15.

The government has spent Rs 630 million to provide 6.5 million free school text books for 2012 to students, sources added.

The free text books programme includes 437 book categories that are distributed to students from Grade one to Grade thirteen. The Ministry expects to deliver the books before December 16 for students to begin using them from the beginning of next year.

Also, 514 types of teacher instruction manuals are to be distributed along with the free school text books.
