Crash course in English for public servants

A 10-day workshop will be held to train public service officers in English at the Moneragala District Secretariat from September 9 to 19.

The workshop will be an in-house training for administrative and field officers of the public sector in the Moneragala District.

These steps were taken by the National Institute of Languages Education and Training to enhance and upgrade the knowledge of English among such as service officers. This is the first of its kind conducted in the country.

The institute currently conducts workshops and training in Tamil language for public service officers.

Organizers say the programme is another step towards a trilingual Sri Lankan society.
