NTC delegation to visit Niger on sealing borders

LIBYA: The Libyan rebel National Transitional Council (NTC) decided Wednesday to dispatch a delegation to Niger to demand the sealing of borders to prevent the escape of fallen Libyan leader Mummar Gaddafi, his family or his loyalists and discuss the issue of returning the smuggled money.

A large convoy of about 250 armored vehicles carrying Gaddafi's loyalists has crossed into neighboring Niger on Tuesday. Gaddafi or his sons were not spotted in the convoy that reportedly carried gold and cash and was escorted by Niger troops. Niger's Internal Affairs Minister Abdou Labo, however, denied that a Libyan convoy had entered his country. But he confirmed that Niger had given asylum to Gaddafi's internal security chief Mansour Daw on humanitarian grounds. BENGHAZI, Thursday, Xinhua
