Food poisoning hospitalizes over 150

Over 150 employees attached to a factory in Katunayake Export Processing Zone were rushed to the Negombo hospital after they complained of vomiting and nausea due to food poisoning.

According to hospital sources, most employees received treatment at the OPD and returned to their houses. They said the seven patients being treated at the hospital would be discharged today.

According to hospital sources, these employees were hospitalized yesterday morning. It is believed the midday meal, which the employees took the previous day, was contaminated. Factory sources said three kitchens prepare food to the employees.
