‘Victory for SLFP at A’pura MC polls’

The United People’s Freedom Alliance will achieve a convincing victory at the forthcoming Anuradhapura Municipal Council elections defeating both the UNP and the JVP, said Agrarian Services and Wildlife Minister S M Chandrasena.

He was addressing a meeting of the Horowpothana SLFP Bala Mandalaya held at Horowpothana recently.

The minister said that it is the Mahinda Rajapaksa government which restored peace and freedom to the people in Anuradhapura district who suffered due to LTTE terrorism for nearly 30 years. As a mark of gratitude the people including those in the Anuradhapura district had ensured victory to the UPFA at successive elections. The people of Anuradhapura would do the same at the Anuradhapura MC elections held on October 8 by giving the UPFA another convincing victory.

The minister requested all members of the Horowpothana SLFP Balamandalaya and other SLFP activists in the area to work with dedication to help further enhance the UPFA victory at the forthcoming election.
