Artistes felicitated to mark SLFP anniversary

The Sri Lanka Nidahas Cultural Organization has organized a felicitation ceremony under the theme Nil Pila Babalawu Kalakaruwo Agayamu-Samaramu, to confer awards and cash prizes to honour the services of yesteryear artistes to mark Sri Lanka Freedom party's 60th anniversary.

The ceremony will be held at the Mihilaka Madura, BMICH on September 4 at 2 pm under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa. Prime Minister D.M.Jayaratne will also participate.

Sixty artistes will be felicitated for their pioneering efforts in the creation of the SLFP and 10 artistes from among them who have worked for the party's progress for over 25 years will receive special awards.

Sri Lanka Nidahas Cultural Organization has also organized a photographic exhibition of past artistes which will be opened by Culture and Arts Minister T.B. Ekanayake.
