NHDA to redress housing problems in Kurunegala

The National Housing Development Authority (NHDA) will construct
1,983 housing units in the Kurunegala district at a cost of Rs 222
million.
According to Senior District Manager of the NHDA R M U M Rathnayake,
there are 22,978 families who do not have a house of their own in the
district.
"A housing project consisting of 23 houses is under construction at
Welangolla estate.
Thirty houses were constructed in 30 DS divisions during this year.
Five houses were constructed for war heroes and work on 20 houses at
Keppitigala for estate workers is nearing completion," said the Senior
District Manager.
The NHDA will offer deeds to 348 families for their lands and will
grant 110 plots of land to landless families.
