'Celeb Chat' with Lakshman Joseph de Saram

Classical charm with Lakshman Joseph de Saram on 'Celeb Chat' Professional classical musician and film composer Lakshman Joseph de Saram takes centre stage in a tete-a-tete with host Kumar de Silva on Prime TV's "Celeb Chat" at 9.00 pm on Monday September 05 on CSN.

Born into a family that put a high value on culture and the arts, his father Sooty Banda was a political satirist while his mother, Sita de Saram, was a sculptor and music teacher. The early years of this former Royalist were thus saturated with books, chess, classical music etc.

This chat repeats on Tuesday 06 September 8.00 AM. 'Celeb Chat' is on CSN on UHF 22, Channel 75 on Dialog TV and also on PEO TV.

A melodious date to keep !

Concert for commitment to caring and sharing by the Boards of Social Responsibility of the Colombo South Circuit of the Methodist Church in support of the people of the war torn areas of the North and the East will be held tomorrow at 6 pm at the auditorium of British School in Colombo.

The concert will feature the international prize winning choirs such as the Methodist College and the Revelations.

The celebrated artistes glittering the event will be pianists, Ramya De Livera Perera and Soundarie David. Flautist, Tilanka Jayamanne and Paraguayan Harpist, Anslem Fernando. Vocals in Sinhala, Tamil and English showcasing the multiculturalism of the church will be by John and Delrine Wijebahu, Ananda Goonesekera, Vipulananda Moorthy, Duke Vinoj Kumar, Errol and Nishali Fernando, Savitri Thambapillai and Chamath Perera, Ravi and Gayan Perera, Naomi Hettithanthiri, Hazel Rajah and Manavi Perera together with Asiri Fernando.

The youth of the Methodist church will back up music by Ravi, Gayan, Christo Prins and Combo.


Denis Gruhier, new General Manager of CLC

Denis Gruhier has been appointed by John Keells Holdings as the new General Manager of Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo, the five star resort-city hotel of the Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts chain.

Denis leaves his role as Group General Manager at Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa, where he oversaw operations of five hotels in Malaysia, to lead the team at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo to greater levels of success.

Gruhier, a French national, is an industry veteran who brings over twenty years of experience in leading hotels across the globe. He is recognized for successfully opening the world's first Palazzo Versace in Gold Coast Australia and for having led the Dusit Thani Bangkok to be voted one of the Ten Best Hotels in the World by Business Travel Magazine, UK edition in 1998.
