Sizzling make over - The London Grill is back

The Cinnamon Grand's exciting makeover of their oldest restaurant at the ground floor is currently the talk of the town, now it is back and even better after being elegantly refurbished keeping the old world charm, but bringing in elements of modern decor. The restaurant is open from 7 pm to 11 pm along with the fabulous setting, is a fantastic new line up of dishes created by Cinnamon Grand's new Executive Chef Chaminda Liyanage, as well as the legendary menu that has made it the capitals most sought after steak house for more than 18 years.

"The new menu is a mixture of French fine dining dishes and the best of Australian Steaks. Exclusive items in the menu like the three ways of serving Foie Gras and the Wagu Steak are some of the already popular preferences," says Executive Chef Liyanage.

The London Grill

'The theatrical backdrop of the restaurant that is like a scene out of King Arthur with its atmospheric low lighting and medieval style kitchen opens into a candlelit dining room, with tables positioned for privacy and also viewing the sommeliers and chefs, as they go about their nightly performances with flair.'

To whet your appetite the new menu offers a choice of magnificent signature grills that include the Angus Fillet of Beef topped with Foie Gras and Truffle Hollandaise.

There's also the enticing Tasmanian Salmon with Baked Oysters or Angus Fillet Mignon that can be quite addictive. All this topped by the wicked selections of desserts like the Flamed Black Cherry Crepes and exquisite Strawberry Summer Pudding makes for a fitting finale to your meal. Dinner is also accompanied by a great selection of new fine wines and impeccable service, which makes the restaurant the perfect spot to clinch a business deal or catch up with special friends.

The intimate setting with its low level lighting, candles twinkling across the room and plush seating is rebound for winning over even the most tricky girls heart with flames that ignite not only from the flambeed steak, but also the Cafe Amore, which is part of The London Grills delicious selection of coffees served at the end of every fine dining experience.

The Cointreau and Amaretto look like a gene appearing out of the magic lantern, as the sommelier twists and turns the glass, and the blue flames seem to dance a tango as they are poured into the glass and mixed with the finest blend of coffee.

A performance Cinnamon Grand guarantee will create a magical ending to a spectacular night out.

The Hotel regulars say with all the new additions there is now no finer place to be wined and dined in Colombo.

So go on order a good grill and join the hotels' growing A-list of fine diners in a venue where every night's a sizzler!
