Nalaka launches maiden book

Dramatist, teledrama director and media personnel Nalaka Swarnathilake will launch his maiden book titled Obey Vatinakama Vadikaraganna at the National Library and Documentation Services Board on September 4 at 3 pm.

Colombo University Dean Prof Kanishka Hiriburegama is the chief guest of the event. Prof Kusuma Karunaratne, Dr Praneeth Abeysundara, DSI Chairman Nandasa Rajapaksa and principals of leading schools in the country will grace the occasion.

The book is about the organising skills required to put together different functions. Most of the ceremonies which are organized in the country lack the essential details. Vital features have been overlooked due to improper planning.

Aspects like delaying functions, not being able to choose the best person to pioneer the event, stretching the line up of events in an unnecessary manner, time management, arranging the schedule in the most appropriate manner, welcoming guests, seating problems, issues connected with lighting the oil lamp and compering for the event are also discussed. It addresses readers from all walks of life and focuses on functions held in all levels from the rural countryside to the urban city.

It especially focuses on arranging events in school level. Those in companies are also given guidelines on how to tackle the problem.

Obey Vatinakama Vadikaraganna comprises 55 chapters. The book is a Fast Ads publication.
