Family netted for robberies

A father, son and daughter in Bandaragama, Millaniya aged 41, 21 and 17 were arrested for robberies recently. Stolen items sold in their Millaniya shop were also seized by the police.

Police investigations revealed that they had burgled shops in other areas.

They were produced before Horana Magistrate R Ranasinghe and remanded pending investigations.

Meanwhile, Mahinda Maha Vidyalaya in Alubomulla, Panadura had been burgled and valuable computers in the computer room had been stolen.

At Mahawila, Panadura, robbers entered a house and stole Rs 150,000 worth of valuable items including a gold chain and a laptop computer. Panadura police crime branch is conducting investigations.
