Media Minister predicts UPFA victory

Mass Media and Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said that the United People’s Freedom Alliance will achieve a great victory in the forthcoming Local Government elections by winning all Local Government bodies including Colombo and Kandy Municipal Councils.

Minister Rambukwella made these observations at a meeting at the Kandy District Secretariat after handing over nominations to the Kundasale Pradeshiya Sabha.

The minister said so far the People’s Alliance won local bodies with votes of the rural population and now the PA was poised to win even the Urban Councils and Municipal Councils.

He said no other political party could be victorious in any election in the country as long as the leadership of Mahinda Rajapaksa remains in the People’s Alliance.

Kandy District Parliamentarian Dilum Amunugama, Central Provincial Health, Probation and Child Protection Minister Sunil Amaratunga and Provincial Councillor Thilina Bandara Tennekone also spoke.
