Maldivian paddlers win a Silver and Bronze

The Maldives table tennis players won a medal in table tennis for the first time in 32 years when women's players Mueena (Silver) and Jumana (Bronze) won medals at the Indian Ocean Island Games worked off in Seychelles recently.

It was a rare achievement for the Maldivians who competed with seven other countries. They were coached by a leading professional table tennis player from Sweden Niklas Waldenstrom who finished his coaching stint in Maldives a few days ago.

He was in Sri Lanka on his way back to Sweden and said that he was willing to coach the Lankan National Team if the Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka approaches him.
