Seetha Devi - under 19 hockey champions

Seetha Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Kandy emerged Kandy District Schools Girls Under 19 champions when they beat Pushpadana Girls College, Kandy 1-0 in a thriller at the University grounds, Peradeniya. At half time Seetha Devi stickers led 1-0.

This tournament was organized by the Kandy District Schools Hockey Association and was played on a league basis.

Seetha Devi BV scored their winning goal through centre forward Wathsala Jayasinghe.

Mangala Karunaratne and K Dissanayake umpired.

The defending champions of this tournament were Pushpadana Girls College who also won the National School Games Hockey Championship last year.

Earlier in the league matches Seetha Devi BV beat Swarnamali BV 6-0, beat Kandy Girls High School 4-0, beat St Anthony's Girls College 2-0 to end up as unbeaten champions.
