Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke said late Monday night that
his team was happy to win the International Day International series
against Sri Lanka, after beating Bangladesh, which was the major goal of
the tour. “It was an excellent start of the tour. We won the series in
Bangladesh and it was nice to come to Sri Lanka and win the One Day
series as well but we were disappointed to lose the final game, the way
we did, Clarke told the post match news conference at the R. Premadasa
Stadium.
“We took it has a full match ODI series while we gave opportunities
to John Hastings and James Patterson as well”, he said.
“It was going to be tougher than the ODI series and said that he
expected the wickets to be spin better. Spin bowling is going to be the
part of the success of any team here and it will be tough to beat Sri
Lanka under these conditions,” he said. |
