TRC concerned about foreign porn websites

The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) informed the Colombo Fort Magistrate yesterday that there were several pornographic sites, which operate outside Sri Lanka and that it is beyond their ability to provide details of these sites.

Earlier, the bureau submitted a list of pornography websites accessible in Sri Lanka via Internet.

The Police Women and Children's Bureau will have to make inquiries from the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Response Team (SL-CERT) and Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT).

Colombo Fort Magistrate and Additional District Judge Lanka Jayaratne put off further hearing for November 24.
