Full security for Muslim devotees

Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa yesterday assured fullest security to members of the Muslim community participating in prayers in mosques.

He requested those who follow the Islamic faith to go for night prayers without fear, as security has been strengthened by the government.

He was addressing the trustees of mosques in Ampara, Batticaloa, Trincomalee and Puttalam districts at the Defence Ministry yesterday.

Please request the Muslim people to attend their night prayers without fear as government has taken all steps to ensure their security, the Defence Secretary told the trustees.
