N'Eliya MC set for polls

The Nuwara Eliya Municipal Council's election fever is hotting up with a number of political parties vying for supremacy in the forthcoming elections.

The United People's Freedom Alliance is confident of winning in the current elections, with one of the youngest UNP members Mahinda Kumara crossing over to the Government and several others too are said to be in the verge of joining the government party. There are 18,500 eligible voters in the ten ward constituency which will elect the new municipal councillors in the forthcoming elections.
