GISM joins Massey University, New Zealand

The Graduate Institute of Science and Management (GISM) have signed
an agreement with the Massey University in New Zealand to promote
selected courses for the students in Sri Lanka and other neighbouring
countries.
The Graduate Institute of Science and Management (GISM) Chairman
Prof. Dr. G. G. Senaratne said, the GISM commenced operations in 2010 in
Sri Lanka in corporation with the Massey University in New Zealand to
offer numerous degree programmes including IT, computer science,
software engineering and Bachelor's degree in business studies to
students from Sri Lanka and other neighbouring countries.
He emphasized that a country such as Sri Lanka need to look at
advanced techniques, technology and engineering to develop the country.
"The GISM will start Post Graduate courses and some useful researches
to enhance the Sri Lankan economy."
Sri Lankan students will have the opportunity to commence their
degree courses at the GISM as the pathway programme to Massey University
in New Zealand. Once the students complete their first year degree
programme at the GISM, they can go to the Massey University the
following year," he said. GCE A/L is the qualification to enter the
GISM.
The GISM will open a session for parents and students on August 14 to
meet the professors to discuss their requirements. "At the same time
they would have spot interviews to select students for the undergraduate
courses," he said.
Massey University is among the top three universities in New Zealand
and ranked among the top 300 universities in the world. GISM is the only
institute affiliated to the Massey University in Sri Lanka as well as
the South Asia region.
GISM emphasizes highly on its research and development activities.
They have facilities and staff for research on numerous topics of
interest of both local and foreign industries.
